Women's Conference

DONE!
Women Wearing the Armor
Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)
Finally be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of reghteousness in place and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasion with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

So the Women's Conference was this weekend and it was a hit. The decor was amazing, the speaker was fantastic and the Word given was such a blessing. I am posting some pictures of the
dinner portion of the conference and they also show the decor. I am not sure how many women were there, but the last count I had was to about 70.

This is just a shot of some of the women after we started the dinner. When the food was all finally served we had a roasted chicken or two on each table, red potatoes, and fruit. Drinks were tea, water and juice. Our teens were our servers, or winches, and they did an excellent job!

Another view of the room while the ladies are enjoying their meals.

These are out of order, but this is one before it started. We had a gift at each seat that had several different things in them and a pen and tablet. My friend Heather made a strawberry and grape centerpiece for the desserts on every table. They were so beautiful.
Another picture of the women arriving. I just wanted to show how we make the bathroom doors not look so yuck! Thanks to Big Lots for having so much stuff for so cheap. We got tons of curtains for under $10 and they were not only used over the windows, but for hanging over doors, between rooms and hiding minor wall imperfections.
Heather and I also made "stained glass". I did the cross and the dove and Heather made the Lion in the middle picture. These were so easy, but they made such a difference in the way the room looked. By the way, it's just black butcher paper you can get from a school cut out and then I glued tissue paper on mine and Heather used construction paper and tape. With the sun shining through them, it was amazing!

We get to have one of these every year, and hopefully we can do a two day conference next year. While this does drain me and everyone who works in every aspect because of all the work that goes into it, I also feel so blessed and rewarded by all the smiles and excitement that the women who come have.
